Sterling Silver Blue Agate Studs
A pair of green agate half drilled bead sterling silver studs. All components of these stud earrings have been sourced by ourselves and they have been assembled in house.
Each green agate bead measures 6mm in diameter and is completely spherical and nestles snuggly into the cup and post fitting.
Used by the Egyptians, for all manor of things including vessels. It is named after a river in Sicily which was called the Achates but now is called the Dirillo. It is a very hard stone and is resistant to most chemicals.
The process of dying agate began with the Romans, most blue agate is dyed, Agate is the birthstone for the Zodiac sign of Gemini.
These semi-precious bead studs have tumbled, polished and drilled, then they have been attached to a sterling silver stem and then a recycled sterling silver butterfly has been fitted to complete the earrings.
