Origins Round Paua Studs

A pair sterling silver round stud earrings, with a gorgeous inlayed Paua shell design, with a highly polished finish.

Paua, pronounced power, is the Mauri name used for what the Americans and Australians call abalone and the British call ormer. It a sea mollusc which is a common seafood, with the shell being used for decorative homewares and jewellery. The shells have lovely colour iridescence of greens, blues and purples which make it very desirable.

These studs are all sterling silver including the stem and butterfly fittings.

Each stud has a diameter of 8mm.
